Terms of Service

Last updated: July 7, 2026

By using Satellite Area Calculator (the "site"), you agree to the terms below. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. These terms exist mainly to set expectations and protect both parties.

1. Use of the service

The core measurement tools are provided free of charge for personal and commercial use. You may use the calculator to measure areas, distances, and perimeters on satellite imagery for any lawful purpose. Some features (such as saving maps and generating images or video) require a free account.

2. Accounts

You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. Provide accurate information when signing up, and don't impersonate others or share your account in a way that abuses the service. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms or misuse the service. You can delete your account and saved content at any time.

3. No warranty

The site and its measurements are provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. The accuracy of any measurement depends on the resolution of the underlying imagery, your precision in placing points, and the geographic location of the shape. Measurements should be treated as estimates suitable for planning — not as legal or surveyed records.

4. Not a substitute for a survey

Do not use this tool for legal property boundaries, building permits, easement disputes, flood-zone determinations, or any context where a professional land survey is required. Hire a licensed surveyor for those.

5. AI-generated images and video

The site can generate images and video from your prompts and from map or street-level imagery. These outputs are AI-generated, imaginative renderings — not photographs, and not accurate representations of any real, existing, or proposed structure, property condition, or future development. Do not rely on them for construction, valuation, permitting, or as a factual depiction of any location or property.

When you generate content, you agree that:

  • You have the rights to any description or input you provide, and won't use the feature to infringe others' rights.
  • You won't generate content that is illegal, deceptive, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or that misrepresents a real property or person.
  • You won't present generated content as a real photograph or an official depiction without making clear it is AI-generated.
  • Generation is subject to usage limits that may change, and access may be rate-limited or withdrawn to protect the service.

As between you and us, you are responsible for the content you generate and how you use it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically download the site's content or underlying services
  • Violate the rights of others, including privacy and intellectual property rights
  • Submit content that is illegal, abusive, or designed to exploit the service
  • Disrupt the site, overload our infrastructure, or interfere with other users
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits or access controls

7. Third-party services

The site relies on third-party service providers for mapping, authentication, hosting, storage, and content generation. Your use of features powered by those services is also subject to their respective terms. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services.

8. Intellectual property

The site's name, design, written content, and source code are owned by the site operator. Satellite imagery and map data are owned by their respective providers. You retain your rights in the maps, notes, and generated content you create; by using the service you grant us the limited right to store, process, and display that content as needed to operate the features you use. You may not copy written guides or articles wholesale; brief quotations with attribution and a link back are welcome.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site operator is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the site, its measurements, or any generated content. If you cannot accept this limitation, please don't use the site.

10. Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of the operator's jurisdiction.
